About Big Bang Astronomy Club

Big Bang Astronomy Club, or BBAC, is a unit of Saurashtra Education Foundation’s Shri O. V. Sheth Regional Community Science Centre, Rajkot, catalysed and supported by GUJCOST, DST, Govt. of Gujarat, Gandhinagar.

BBAC has been actively involved in astronomy outreach, public observation programs, educational activities, workshops, and skywatch events across Gujarat. The club’s work was nationally recognized during the 134th episode of Mann Ki Baat by Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi on 31st May 2026, where the club was mentioned for organizing astronomy activities from the Gir forests to the Rann of Kutch.

Inspired by the Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi’s call to encourage astronomy, scientific curiosity, and youth participation through Mann Ki Baat, BBAC is expanding its outreach through this dedicated membership platform for astronomy enthusiasts across India.

The BBAC Membership Portal has been established to create a connected astronomy community that enables participation from both local and remote members.
